The space was designed to allow for a good amount of interaction between the
blue collar and white collar workers who normally would be estranged from one
another. The architect (CSD) promoted this interaction through a circumambulatory
space at the center of the four quadrants of work areas. People credit the project
with looking as if it was done by the same hand, in that the work of the architect
and the interior designer was symbiotic enough to not be able to tell where one
started and the other picked up.
